About
Hello, i’m Gordon Luk. I’m a web programmer living in Southern California. After completing high school at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, I went to the University of Southern California and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science in May of 2001. Fight on Trojans!
I currently work as a web programmer, at Yahoo! on Upcoming.org.
I run a personal weblog at getluky.net, where I journal about technology, the web, and progress on my various projects. Obviously, any thoughts I express there are my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer.
Between 2004 and 2005, I wrote Freetag, an open-source Tagging and Folksonomy module for PHP/MySQL, and also created eatlunch.at, a web application to help groups decide where to go to lunch. More recently, Upcoming.org, once a side project as well, was acquired by Yahoo!, where I now work.
From 1998 to 2000, I played Quake II and Quake III competitively as K9-Gloucester. That was a lot of fun, but not a great place to make a career, so I gave up on fame, and moved on to technology where I could work hard, and make cool stuff happen.
My hobbies are being outdoors, snowboarding, footbag, reading, and computer games. That, and spending an inordinate amount of time on the computer.
