I keep hoping (and sometimes prodding) MusicBrainz will tool up to give us a play to share this kind of information. You get a lot of it from a tagging system plus some fairly rudimentary parsing of the metadata we already have.

Bic Runga is fabulous, and I am constantly amazed that she doesn’t get more air play given how instantly appealing her songs are.

The closest she got to mainstream airplay in the US was probably when her beautiful song “Sway” was on the American Pie sound track (oddly enough!).

You might also be interested to know that her sister, Boh, is in another New Zealand band, Stella, which is a bit more on the alt rock side of things.
