ABIT VH6-II PS2 Mouse Buzzing

Interesting discovery:

I had a buzzing sound emanating from PS2 mouse movements on an ABIT VH6-II motherboard I had lying around. It has an embedded AC97 (or AC’97) audio card, and the sound frequency was proportional to the PS2 report rate I configured. I was able to kill it by muting the CD-Audio volume. The DVD-ROM I have attached isn’t attached to the sound input though. I might try that next to see if it’s an issue with ungrounded connectors.

actually we had that same sorta MB noise on some of our machines, but as best as I could figure it was coming from something in the video card, and generating a low buzz on headphones/speakers. only happened with video accelerated stuff.
