Interesting thoughts about automatically saving documents.
blog entry about making Cocoa documents autosave:
http://iratescotsman.com/index.php/interface/mac/autosave.html
This came about because it seems like Cocoa doesn’t let you revertToSavedDocument after you edit, save, then edit again. I have to Undo an operation before I am once again allowed to revertToSavedDocument. Haven’t figured out if this is a bug yet.

Interesting discovery:
I had a buzzing sound emanating from PS2 mouse movements on an ABIT VH6-II motherboard I had lying around. It has an embedded AC97 (or AC’97) audio card, and the sound frequency was proportional to the PS2 report rate I configured. I was able to kill it by muting the CD-Audio volume. The DVD-ROM I have attached isn’t attached to the sound input though. I might try that next to see if it’s an issue with ungrounded connectors.

Looking for public domain research for your business or school projects? The Pew Internet and American Life project has been a really great source of facts and information that reveal surprising facts about the way Americans have adopted the Internet, especially among the young.

A couple of the texts i’ve really found to be interesting:
Let the games begin: Gaming technology and entertainment among college students
Asian-Americans and the Internet: The Young and the Connected
Teenage Life Online: The rise of the instant-message generation and the Internet’s impact on friendships and family relationships
Great business plan material, even if a bit outdated.

Interesting articles (especially in regards to VC’s). I found the articles about liquidation preferences and ratchet techniques particularly illuminating, especially the simple examples. I’ve seen these terms in glossaries before but this is a much better way to understand them.

Browsing about on the radio dial the other day, and I happened upon 87.9 in the middle of a Juan Atkins set. Pretty young guy for the godfather of techno. He’s got that real detroit sound, but also can get kinda funky, so I dug it. There’s also a show by a guy named Ameno that some of us met back in the day.
Anyway, the reception in the downtown area is okay, but I wouldn’t recommend tuning in outside of the LA basin, and it seems like they don’t broadcast 24/7. So far i’ve heard breaks, house, a little jungle, techno and reggae. Good stuff guys, keep it coming.
The Streets Radio
They have some crazy broadcast repeater model they talk about in their site, but without any technical details on how to become a repeater, etc. Anyway it’s amazing that they’re broadcasting in the first place.
